Opening speech by András Semjén art collector and senior research fellow (Economics of Education, Hungarian Academy of Sciences)

Attila Rátfai (Associate Professor, Department of Economics, CEU) has been collecting works of Hungarian contemporary art since he started to work at CEU in 2001. In the past 10 years, he has become one of the well-known art collectors of Hungary. He is especially interested in constructive art works with peculiar surfaces made by the young generation of contemporary visual artists in Hungary.

In this exhibition, visitors can watch paintings created between 2001 and 2011 by Levente Bálványos, Csilla Bondor, Yusuke Fukui, Sándor Győrffy, László Hajdú, István Harasztÿ, Ferenc Ficzek Jr., Andrea Kollár, Réka Gyöngyvér Kovács, Béla Losonczi, Ákos Matzon, Gábor György Nagy, Melitta Németh, László Ottó, Róza Schmal, Sára Szabó, Tamás Szikora
