Central European University celebrates its 20th anniversary (1991-2011) this academic year. The university commissioned a film on this occasion - ceu20, created by Peter Almond - that plays in conjunction with the present art exhibition by the Amsterdam-based multi-media artist, Julie Arphi.

Arphi's conception is a composition piece that embodies CEU's 20 year emergence and joins this history with Arphi's noted global faces. This synthesis signifies the university's growing focus on world affairs with a student body from over 100 countries and courses on issues that draw together the regional history of transformation with global scope and change. The film features the emergence of the art work as Arphi in her Amsterdam studio chooses and mounts printed CEU materials from the 20 year period and merges them with the engaging faces. All of the materials become context for a remarkable figure who emerges from this world and CEU background, the Standing Lady.

The event is free of any admission fee.
