director: Miklós Erdély (Hungarian experimental movie, 1979, 51 mins)

The Hungarian experimental filmmaker Miklós Erdély made the film in 1979, based on a documentary novel written by Gyula Krúdy in 1931 and titled "Eszter Solymosi from Tiszaeszlár". According to the historical facts a young girl, Eszter Solymosi disappeared in summer of 1882 and the Jews were accused of murdering her ritually. The movie tries to reveal the characters' inner self, their motivation coming from personal or collective beliefs.


The screening is related to the Approaches to Counter Cultures seminar led by Gábor Klaniczay and Balázs Trencsényi on Thursday, February 14, 5.20 PM in TIGY Room.
