Selected Prophetical Nuisances 2.0 - Re-Opening of Armin Langer's banned exhibition

Nowadays in Hungary - and all over the globe: a pastor incites against Roma citizens, people counter-protest at Gay Pride waving with Bibles, the non-Jewish and female members of the Great Synagogue's Choir got banned from the temple, the government of 'Christian values' criminalizes homelessness, in Israel the rabbinate's biggest problem is the correct shape of the boreka, in the West, fundamentalist Muslims kill in the name of the Merciful... Meanwhile, a new god rises on the horizon: the Capital. And Jesus was blond with blue eyes, right?

Armin Langer, student of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the Eötvös Loránd University, self-appointed prophet, cartoonist of dozens of awards, whose works have been exhibited from Berlin through Beijing to the town of Tótkomlós, in his 7th solo exhibition took a close look at church, dogma, fundamentalism etc. - the cartoons were so effective, that on the next day the exhibition was claimed to be morally unacceptable and banned from the hosting government-funded institute (although the opening speech was given by a religious guy and the artist himself is religious). Now the exhibition, in an extended version, will be re-opened at the Central European University!

The exhibition will be opened by journalist György Balavány. Previously, Peter Molnar, Senior Research Fellow at CEU will say a few words about the freedom of the artist.

The exhibition will be open until March 18. Free entry.
