Concert and Party of Laura Lackey's Rhythm Revue 

Laura Lackey's Rhythm Revue began as spontaneous meetings between street musicians in Budapest in 2011. The band members coming from all around the globe. They have the classic instrumentation of an acoustic old-time band, including double bass, trumpet, violin and acoustic guitar. Led by vocalist Laura Lackey who began playing music in her native San Francisco Bay Area and later in New Orleans, they gradually made their way into the nightlife of central Budapest, playing bars, cafés, ruinpubs and famous dancehalls.

Laura Lackey’s Rhythm Revue has played various swing events and festivals in Berlin and venues around Germany and Austria. Recently they released their first album in 2013. ​​ ​Laura Lackey’s Rhythm Revue, brings you hot dance floor tunes from the early swing era up until today. All shades of Americana Roots Music from Swing and New Orleans Jazz to Blues and Gospel they play popular music old and new including many original songs, playing them in their own style based in the improvisational traditions of jazz and blues. The music is tight, fresh and entertaining and is worth the attention of both musicologists and party-goers.  

To really enjoy the party dance teachers will show you how to dance swing.  

The concert will be introduced by the documentary "Laura Lackey" directed by Sári Haragonics (in English and Hungarian with English subtitles, 14 mins.)
