Szabad Hangok Énekegyüttes (Free Voices Vocal Ensemble) was founded in 2003 to promote contemporary experimantal choir music. They usually perform pieces of contemporary composers as well as important and difficult pieces from the history of choir music. They aim to to inspire young contemporary composers, and to help lovers of choral music appreciate and understand contemporary music more. They regularly give first performances of pieces by young Hungarian composers like Judit Varga, Balázs Horváth or Péter Tornyai. Szabad Hangok is working independently as a non-professional ensemble with musicians and musically skilled amateurs from different walks of life. They perform multi-phrased music for mixed-choir, and one or two singers sing one phrase.

Laura Antal graduated in choral conducting in 2000 and got her PhD degree in 2010 at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music as a student of István Párkai. She attended master classes led by Dan-Olof Stenlund in Nevers, France, Gary Graden and Carlo Pavese InFano, Italy. She is teaching Choir conducting at the University of West Hungary and Solfège at the Zoltán Kodály Choir-school in Budapest.
