Concert of Lukács Miklós Trio

Miklós Lukács is one of the most well-known and many-sided cimbalom players today. His unique style is inspired by jazz, contemporary classical music, roots music from his native Hungary as well as the Balkans. He has played together with world-famous jazz performers. Presenting the works of Péter Eötvös composed for cimbalom, Lukács has played solo in several renowned orchestras. The respectable stages of Covent Garden, Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican Center, Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Opera houses in Lyon and Bordeaux all welcomed Lukács. Since 2011 Miklós Lukács has been the head of the cimbalom department at Snétberger Music Talent Center.

Apart from playing in various Hungarian ensembles, Miklós Lukács has been active as a composer too. His newest formation, the Lukács Miklós Trió was formed in 2013. The trio achieved great success with their record entitled Cimbiózis published on March 1, 2014, by Fonó Records. The trio is new, however its members have been playing together for a long time. Miklós Lukács has composed for this formation in a way that each musician has equal weight, appearing as a chamber-band.
