InterAct - Improvisation-based Community Theater Project

The first workshop will be between 5.30 and 7.30 PM on October 10, Monday at Auditorium A (Nádor u. 15.)

Students, staff and faculty members coming from all over the world to CEU face different challenges. CEU can be a place where these challenges can be spelled and eased up by listening to stories from different perspectives and learning from each other. Moreover, others’ stories can help put your own experiences into perspective. Drama can give space for these sharings and happenings.

We are planning to start an improvisation workshop where group members tell stories and play/watch them enacted on the spot. These stories could build up a community-based theater play which would teach us about the struggles of people in countries distant from us, yet encouraging by personal stories where fall was followed by a new rise. Sometimes, especially in a competitive and achievement-oriented environment, we are prone to thinking that others have no failures, no painful defeats, no setbacks. We would like to invite the CEU community to be open, daring, and sharing – even when it comes to setbacks.

The workshops are twice a week on Mondays between 5.30 and 7.30 PM and on Fridays between 3.30 and 5.30 PM in October and on the first week of November. Beyond creating a space for improvisation, the aim of the workshops is also to produce a performance by mid-November.

The workshops are free and open to all CEU students, staff and faculty. Please sign up by sending an email to by October 7, Friday!
