Balaton

The legendary Hungarian alternative band, Balaton was founded in 1979. The band's lead singer and composer, Mihaly Vig is famous for writing the soundtracks of several Bela Tarr movies. At the beginning, they worked together with Trabant, and after their break-up, Balaton joined Europa Kiado (‘84-‘87), another cult-alter band of the time. Unlike their brother-bands, Balaton is still active today (although not releasing new albums) giving concerts in small clubs and festivals.

Members of the band: Mihaly Vig, Simon Wahorn, Imanuel Olah, Peter F. Toth alias Csimpi

The concert is connected to the "APPROACHES TO COUNTER-CULTURAL MOVEMENTS IN EAST-CENTRAL EUROPE" seminar.
